Hi, my name is Melissa Marchese. My friends and family call me Mel. I’m a go getter, who works hard for the hustle, hair is my focus and creativity is my passion.… I’ve been a hairstylist for 17 years, and I’ve personally watched the industry change fro m: closed off single minded stylist’s to welcoming like minded bad ass hairstylists collaborating with no boundaries. I’m excited to be a part of this revolution and educate while being educate d. It’s the will not the skill. You have to want it more then you’re afraid of it. I want to be an artist with a brush in a room full of painters thriving on each others fire. I specialize in Redken hair color with a Mast er of Balayage certificate in hair painting. I also have been extension certified/trained for the last 11 years. I specialize in weft, beaded, sew in, individuals, tape in, and clip ins. I started at Goldenwest college 17 years ago and mad e my way through 3 salons until I found my home at Parlour e.lev.en. Here’s my back story, enjoy: This all started with my Nina and Aunt as hairstylists taking me under their wing at a young age. I had wide eyes, thinking they were doing incredible, big things, I wanted t o know all about it. Sure as shit I was going to find out how, and when, I was going to be doing the same. The day I signed up for cosmetology school was the day my aunt solidified my future by taking me to the salon all these years. We both knew it was my path. She gave me the most fucking awesome distressed black leather scissor pouch from New York and told me to use it and take every opportunity to venture out and experience h air on a different level outside the salon. To this day I take that pouch with me to every wedding, photo shoot, and house call I work. I’m hoping to expand and broaden my horizon with the knowledge that I’ve collected through the years. My goal is to give back what I have been given and inspire other stylists with a positive energy and openness for what’s to come in the industry. I want to be a part of someone’ s future the way my aunt was mine. I’m gonna die with that damn pouch.
~ Cheers to everyone finding there own leather pouch and taking on t he hair world
